Silver Screen Steamboat Jazz
Friday 26th August
“Following their sensational debut in Sandwich, Steamboat Jazz Band make a welcome return with Silver Screen Jazz, a fabulous concert of classic music and iconic film from the trailblazing decade universally renowned as the “Jazz Age”.
Opening this year’s Sandwich Festival with a big screen and one of the best jazz bands around the historic town will once again return to the pulsating era of the Great Gatsby.
Focus will be on Radio 2 featured banjoist Richard Elmes and his all star band as they romp through a catalogue of jazz classics such as Runni’n Wild, Basin Street Blues, Doctor Jazz and present a rollicking montage of slapstick comedy from the Hollywood stars of silent film.
Full to the brim with music and fun, Silver Screen Jazz defines the very essence that put the roar into the Twenties. Don’t miss it ! “
Tickets will be on sale from Friday 24th June
Sandwich Festival 2016
Bank Holiday Sunday – Community Showcase Day
On Sunday 28th August, Sandwich Festival will bring back the popular free music and picnic on the Quay Green from 5.00pm followed by the illuminated boat parade – hopefully with fireworks
BUT BEFORE THAT
throughout the day On the Quay Green we are showcasing all of our local clubs and societies.
Every local group is invited to have a Static display
a gazebo or table top – to promote yourself to the public.
You could turn it into a fund raising stall as well as recruiting new members.
For those whose activities lend themselves, we will have a programme of
Live Displays – eg fencing, Zumba, boxing rugby, football etc
There will be some healthy eating and drinking stalls as well.
To get involved – phone Steve on 611 619 or email email@example.com
There is no charge involved – we just want to promote to the public what we all do
